On September 29, 2022, Jon Varnica obtained summary Judgment in favor of a San Francisco Bay Area based investment firm against claims for breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and defamation. The Alameda County Superior Court determined that our client did not owe a duty to the claimant, a disgruntled founder and former executive of a local technology firm.
Furthermore, the Court found no evidence that the defendant defamed the claimant. The result extricated the defendant from a complex business dispute where plaintiff sought a 7 figure recovery.
